Services
Sunday Morning Worship at 10:15am
Sunday Evening Service at 5:00pm
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the third Sunday of the month in the morning service. We also share a Fellowship Meal in the evening on the first Sunday of each month. This meal concludes with worship and celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
We are a church in the Protestant Reformed tradition. Our worship includes prayer, singing, the reading and preaching of God’s Word, observation of the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and the affirmation of our faith through historic creeds and confessions of the church.
We offer a creche for nursery age children during the sermon, staffed by fully DBS checked volunteers.
What to Expect
Immanuel Church is a community made up of people from all different backgrounds.
Whether you are new to church, looking for a new church, or have never been to church before, we would love to welcome you on a Sunday morning or evening.
Jesus invites us to come as we are and receive rest in his presence. While our services follow a formal structure, we also believe that worship should be joyful and heartfelt.
We would love for you to join us for a Sunday service, have a coffee or tea afterwards, get to know us, and share in the hope that is found only in the true and living God.
Our Children
Jesus invited children to come to Him, and at Immanuel Church we want to do just that.
Families are very welcome at Immanuel Church. We want you to feel comfortable bringing your children to worship. We recognise that some people have particular needs and concerns. Please do get in touch with us so that we can help you as best we can.
During our worship service children are encouraged to remain in the main gathering with their parents. Paper, pens and fidget toys are always available. There is also a room next to our worship space if you feel your child needs a few minutes to get the wiggles out. For school age children, we produce question sheets every week, called Fact Finders, to help them follow the sermon.
THE DETAIL ABOUT WHAT WE BELIEVE
We are a catholic and orthodox church, which means we believe what has been held in common by Christians of all backgrounds, through the centuries, as expressed in the classic creeds of the church, such as the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed.
We are a church that believes the Bible is God’s written word, without error or mistakes. It teaches us who God is, helps us to better know ourselves, and shows us how to live in his world. The Bible is the standard of our faith and rule by which we live.
We are a Reformed Presbyterian church, which means we hold to the system of teaching rediscovered in the Reformation of the 16th Century. This is expressed in our official doctrinal basis, the Westminster Confession of Faith.
We are part of a family of churches known as The International Presbyterian Church.
Our Core Values
We Depend On God's Grace
This will be seen in our worship, as we adore our gracious Triune God; in our teaching as the word of God’s grace will be at the centre of all we do; in our commitment to prayer; and in our welcome and compassion for outsiders. As those who know our own dependence upon God’s grace, we will be willing to admit our own helplessness, and offer grace to others. Our Lord Jesus welcomed and cared for little children, so we treat the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults as matter of great importance.
We Are United As God's Family
Western culture stresses independence, and equates maturity with self-sufficiency. In contrast, God adopts us into His family by grace, and we grow as Christians together because Christian maturity is never individualistic. It is always about the whole church together (Ephesians 4:10-16). Our interdependence is also expressed in giving and receiving hospitality and mutual discipleship
We Are Based In Brentford
We love Brentford and want to be involved in this place in Jesus’ name. We do not all live in Brentford, but we all seek to build relationships here, and also in the communities where God has put us by His providence. We hope, by God’s grace to be salt and light, pointing people here towards Christ Jesus.
We Proclaim God's Word
Hearing and believing God’s good news message is what has changed our lives, so we long for the same for others. Faith comes by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17). God’s word is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). So, we prayerfully and winsomely build relationships, but more than that, speak God’s life-changing word with our neighbours.
We Support God's Mission
We have the privilege of being part of what God is doing around the world. So we pray for, and give to, mission work.
